We haven't really swaddled P at night since we came home from the hospital. She has been sleeping in her carseat because of her reflux so I lay a soft blanket under her so the straps don't hurt her and wrap it over her feet.
I remebered reading that someones LO sleeps longer if swaddled, I told Dh and he was all over it. She slept from 11ish to 4.
Granted she did sleep two 5 hour stretches over a week ago but she hadn't since then. She has been up every 2 hours, constantly except for those two nights.
I'm wondering if it was coincidence or if swaddling makes them sleep better & longer.

Mom, why are you washing my feed in the sink?!
ditto for us
When DS is swaddled, he'll sleep about 2 hours and then wakes up fussing trying to get out of it, and if he can't get his arms out, he'll start crying. The second I open him up, he usually falls right to sleep and seems to sleep longer when not swaddled.
