Dh Frustrated

Did your Dh get frustrated with LO? If so how did he deal with it?

My dh likes to be a problem solver, so when DD cries and he doesn't know what is wrong he get really frustrated.

Any suggestions on how I can help him?

Get him a copy of The Baby Whisperer to read?

I just let DH be frustrated. I'll make suggestions or try to explain things to him, but not always.

Sometimes there really is nothing wrong and they are just crying b/c they want to be left alone.  Also, DD will fuss right before she falls into a deep sleep.  It may seem that there is something wrong but if I just let her be for a few minutes, she will fall right asleep.  If I mess with her, then she just gets more mad and screams louder and won't stop until I just let her alone.

I suggest things that work for me... turn on music, swing, tummy rubbing, etc whatever seems to be working that week for LO, but I normally recommend two things and let him figure out what works for him... he doesn't have to do it my way. ?I also remind him that when he is completely frustrated to bring LO to me and I will switch with him, just like he does for me when I get frustrated (we have a cranky baby)

Sometimes men need to hear things from the "professionals" so call your hospital and see if they offer any baby care classes he could sit in on.
