Can babies have bad dreams?

DD was just napping in her swing beside me and started high pitched screaming. As soon as I picked her up and held her real tight she was fine and went right back to sleep.

Was she dreaming?

I think so, DD has done the same thing, its freaky.

Yes my daughter has done this a few times, so freaky!! Must be a bad dream.

I'm sure they dream ...  and I'm sure sometimes it's bad dreams too.

I actually looked this up! Most of the stuff I read said we dream more as infants than any other time in our lives.

My LO pretends he's sucking while he's asleep, so when he lets out a scream, Dh and I just say that his dream boob ran out of milk. lol

I disagree about bad dreams. What on earth would be considered a bad dream to a baby whose whole world is just eating, sleeping and pooping at this point? It was most likely painful gas.
