Anyway to avoid Ticketmaster's charges?

Does "buying at the box office" help you avoid ticketmaster's 10.75 PER TICKET charge? We'd be going to the House of Blues if that helps at all....I know I should call but I can't right now, its a bday present for DH and he'd know what I was doing if I called.

  • You can try but it's not a guarantee.  We pay the ticket fee here no matter what.  It sucks.

  • I would check the venue website to be sure, but generally you avoid the convenience fee if you go in person.  If there's a restoration or facility fee you'll still pay that no matter what.

  • you can go to the HOB any day to buy whatever tickets you want from there, free of charge =)

generally, though, i would not go the same day of the event

But do I have to drive all the way down to Anaheim or can I buy tix for an Anaheim show at Sunset? Do you know?
  • my DH says he is pretty sure you can do that, but we have never done that personally. too bad you cant call, im guessing you cant get on their website if your DH is there, right?

    ....hmmm...let me check their website...

i would take a huge leap and say to try the sunset HOB.
