TTC After a Loss

Luteal phase question

So I'm looking at my chart, and based on what TCYOF says, I am ovulating today.  I've never been one to feel ovulation, so I'm just going by OPKs, temps, and what the chart is telling me.  According to TCYOF, I also ovulated exactly 4 weeks ago.  I did not chart with my first pg (m/c) in September.  Last month, the time between m/c and my first AF, it would appear that I had a 10 day LP.

Can I presume that because my ovulation dates are 4 weeks apart, that my LP will be the same this cycle, or would the LP in the time between m/c and first AF be "off?"  I know that generally, LPs are constant, but I'm not sure if the first one after a m/c can be different than what they will be normally.  It does appear that I O a little on the later side...today is CD19.  If it matters to answering my question, I did get a positive OPK on CD18 in the cycle that we did get PG (when I did not chart).

Ultimately, I'm trying to decide if the B6 supplmentation is working/worked...but I suppose I won't know that for a little while longer yet.

Re: Luteal phase question

  • I'm not sure to be honest.  I know I have read luteal phases are supposed to be constant or at least close in length.  I'm not sure if the first cycle after a mc is an exception.

  • Yeah, LP are supposed to be constant, but mine are not, especially since the m/c.  Your first cycle after m/c is very likely to be weird.  I don't think you should worry just yet.  The b6 supp takes a while to work.  Hope you had fun w/your +opks :)
  • Its almost impossible to say what your LP would be after only charting for one month. Doctors won't even see you for cycle abnormalities until you've had 3+ cycles with a short lp. I would hazard a guess that you'll have a similar LP, (which can still vary by a few days btw). Though in all the articles I've read, the women that say B6 works for them say that they ovulate earlier that usual. B6 did not work for me at all. Vitex seemed to be the magic cure. Did I answer your question? Probably not.

  • After I got off BC, my luteal phase was NOT constant at all! It finally settled at a constant 15 days after about 6 months.

My first post-bc LP was only 8 stinkin days. Next one was 10, then 14, then down to 12, then 13, then it finally hit 15 and stayed there.

    GOOD LUCK!
