I had just entered 2nd tri when I started experiencing cramping and spotting. I went to the doc and found out baby was only measuring 10w5d. Of course we had already told everyone, which just makes it worse.
Dr scheduled me for a D&C the Wed before Thanksgiving. Tuesday night I had a natural miscarriage. I tried to be tough and wait it out, but the bleeding was too much and I ended up in the ER. When I got to the ER I explained what was going on. The triage nurse, in her questioning, asked if I was pregnant. I realize she's just used to the routine, but she didn't even flinch at my "Not anymore!' response. Anyway, my body didn't take care of it 100% so I had to have the D&C anyway.
Honestly, I think the extreme pain I experienced has helped me get through this emotionally. This hasn't been the best week of my life, and it's really hard to find the silver lining, but reading everybody's posts over the past few days has really helped me. So thanks even though I haven't talked to anybody on here, and thoughts and prayers to everybody.
Re: Found out at almost 14 weeks
I'm so sorry for your loss. I hate when new people join, because it means they went through the same terrible thing the rest of us did. You'll find a big support here.
Your story sounds a lot like mine. Check out my blog if you are interested in reading about it.
I too was 14 weeks when I went in for a "routine exam" and discovered our baby had passed. I had had to have two D&C for this m/c which I have learned from this support group is not normal.
When you talked about going into the ER I totally felt for you as I experienced the same. During registration for my 1st D&C the nurse asked if there was any chance I was pregnant. I instantly cried and turned to my husband to speak for me. The nurse was not sympathetic at all.
I am sorry for your loss. We are all here for you.
