Gather round while I tell you a slightly longish story of Karma and its subtle wiles.
My SIL dropped by for about 2 hours last night on her way through from VA to the coast. In two hours, she proceeded to let her children cough all over EVERYONE and when she left informed us they were exposed to swine flu in VA. In two hours plus my MIL, they had destroyed my kitchen/house.
While FIL and I had gone to get Starbucks earlier, MIL had made dinner. How she destroyed my kitchen making BAGGED FROZEN chinese from Trader Joe's I will never know. (probably the same way she caught one of my pans on fire last time making Mac and Cheese).
But I digress. There was rice/dishes and dog toys (the kids playing with the dogs) strewn from here to there. So early this morning as I'm trying to make sense of my house before they wake up and praying they hit the road early today (despite the completely kickass christmas presents they bought us that we already know about) I realize something.
The ceasar salad she made (from a bag kit ofcourse) that they ate and DH and I didn't.....was made in my mop bowl. Instead of washing my big bowl in the sink, she hunted through to find something else...and in the panty with a sponge and rubber gloves sitting in it...she found the bowl I clorox my baseboards and spot clean my floor with. I just used it before she got here...and it is dirty....and my heart sang as I smiled while I finished cleaning.
