Broken thermometer?

I swear there is something wrong with my thermometer.  

We just moved back to our house and like our bedroom cool at night.  And I wasn't charting last winter.  So I have a cold thermometer to start with.  I take my temp once and get a really low reading and the thermometer will still feel cold in my mouth.  I take it again and it goes up a degree.  A full degree.  In only the time it takes to beep.  This just doesn't seem right to me.  Any thoughts?  I guess if AF shows today I'll know it may not be broken.  And feel free to look at my chart - it is all over the place!

So I think I'm going to order a new one just to give me peace of mind.  Any recommendations?  Do any have backlighting so you can read the number in the dark?

My DH keeps our room really cold and I was convinced it was affecting my BBT. I just made sure I kept the plastic cover on it and kept it in my nightstand drawer (closed). In reality, I don't think it was affecting it. And even if it was, it's consistently affecting it every day in the same way, so you should still see a pattern, no?

That said, I'm on my 3rd thermometer since we started TTC because once I convince myself something is *wrong* with mine, I need to get a new one for peace of mind. Their cheap.

i don't think thats indicative of a broken therm at all.  it is completely normal for your temps to be all over the place before and/or after O.  dont worry.  the answer always becomes clear with time.  you will either get a bfp or AF.
