gallbladder recovery question

If you had yours out when LO was still very young (under 3months) how long was it till you were able to hold them again.  Also how long where you in pain from the surgery itself, and how long did it take you to get back to doing things such as food shopping and running errands?

I had mine out when DD was 4 weeks old, on Oct 30th. I slept most of that day away in a drug induced haze, but I was up and about the next day, went to a football game...I was able to hold LO but couldnt lift her and such so family helped with diapering and feeding. I was on the painkillers for 1 week, then I didnt need them anymore. my top 3 stitches healed quickly, but the ones on the bellybotton took longer, had to keep them bandaged...

I was fine after the first week, but then last night I was having pain and what felt like a gall bladder attack like the ones I had when I was preg. my dad (also had his removed last year) said he had random phantom pains for about 6 mos.

I would like to know as well, my friend just got her gallbladder removed and she's got a 2 month old boy to look after.
