Has anyone experienced the movement decreasing around 37 weeks? LO is definitely not moving around like usual today. I'm giving her an hour to shape or calling the doctor...
My Dr. said the movement sometimes slows in late pregnancy as they are simply running out of space. Like the other posters said try having a little bit of coke or something like that then being still and paying attention to see.
Try drinking something either really cold or sweet (ice water, apple juice, orange juice, etc) and lying down for a while. If you are really concerned, call your doctor or go to L&D.

I would definitely call if you can't get a good kick count. I really haven't experienced less movement at all; sometimes, I think I have even more movement now, but maybe it's just stronger. Your LO is probably taking a nap, but that's what the doctors are there for.

There is no doubt that LO is running out of room. Even now I have noticed that mov't is a lot more wiggles and squirms than full on kicks/punches but I can definitely still feel it. As PP said I would lay down and have something to drink and if you don't feel at least 6 of any type of mov'ts in the hour I would call .
This drives me nuts because although it's not like I'm not as concerned that his movements have lessened from what they used to be...I don't know WHEN I should be concerned because I'm not always aware if I've been paying close enough attention to the movements.
People on these boards will almost always have you concerned over nothing! Do not listen to them. What is is you think would be wrong and why? If you must call the Dr but unless you already have some other reason to be extra cautious I would just wait a while and see. Its totally normal for babies to seem to slow down in this phase and everyone is just scared to death of every ridiculous thing nowadays.

Agreed. I like to think I post my concerns on here because there are others going through the same thing. But to F/U...I drank some crystal light and ate some starbursts and she's been moving around like crazy over the last hour. I think I was so busy today that I havent paid attention to it at all.
Glad she's moving better for you. I had the same concerns last week and did a kick count and was still concerned, so I called the dr. anyway. Better safe than sorry! I don't want to make other people paranoid, but my dr advised me to call any time I was worried. They're used to it!!
Over the past few weeks, I've had a few days here and there when LO definitely isn't as active as she usually is. I just figured she's running out of room in there....but if you're worried about anything I would definitely call your doctor.

What did your doctor say to you since your kick count was ok?
She told me that the norm was 5 movements within an hour. I had gotten to 8 in an hour so she said it was fine. I was very paranoid because I had been in an almost-car accident that weekend, and was afraid that would have affected her. It has not, as the seat belt was low on my hips and there was no impact of cars. She said she thought I was fine, and not worry. The baby made up for it the next couple of days...thats for sure!
another thing to keep in mind is that if you are really active during the day, walking around, etc, you're basically rocking the baby to sleep. I know I never feel the baby move unless I've been sitting for a while.

I was just telling DH that....we walked all afternoon around the mall
Re: Lack of movement at 37 weeks?
I've noticed a slow down over the past few weeks.
If I need reassurance paying attention after a meal usually works. He just did a happy dance after dinner which made me smile.
