How long does your LO eat for?

I posted this on the breastfeeding forum but was hoping for some more replies.. 

how long does your one month old eat for? 

Mine use to eat for a good 30 to 45 minutes and suddenly he only eats for 10 minutes and he's done.  (he still sleeps the same amount)

I know i have a lot more milk coming out, could he just be eating faster? but that's a huge difference in time.

this is the only negative thing about nursing -i hate not knowing exactly how many ounces he ate.

My six week old ranges from 8 to about 15 minutes per feeding.  That is up slightly- it used to be about 7 minutes.  It may be your baby has learned to eat more efficiently.  As long as he's still wetting and soiling diapers, you should be ok.

When DD was one month, it took her a good 20 -30 minutes to eat. I think she was just so happy and relaxed that she took her sweet time.

My DS 7wks now eats for 5-10min on each side.  He use to nurse for 15-20 but never that long anymore.  I believe as they get old they start to suck better and are more efficent.  If he wasn't getting enough I'm sure he would let you know.  Each baby is different.

My LO is pretty efficient - 7ish minutes on each side. He could just be a faster eater now.
