So, I might get flamed for this, but I'm asking now so that when the baby comes, I won't be a 'bad mum'...
If your baby is down for a nap, and there is no one else at home, can you leave him/her sleeping in the bassinet/crib while you shower for 10 minutes? We have an ensuite, so I could keep the bathroom door open to the bedroom, and hear if the baby cries...just wondering what the opinions of new moms were on this.
Re: Question from 3rd tri about sleeping/showering
lol ...
No flames here!(I had to call my mom to figure out if this was okay :-))
Absolutely! If you don't, you won't ever get a shower :-)
Also, when LO is big enough to sit in the bouncy seat, you can put him or her in the bathroom in that so he/she can see you if you pull the curtain back. I turn on the fan and leave the door open. LO loves the sound of the running water :-)

You're not a bad mother. While baby is in the bassinet/crib they are safe (pending you don't have stuff in the crib with them). If you have a pet, though, I'd make sure the animal is locked out of whatever room baby is in.
This is awesome news!!! haha.
I was so worried about not being able to shower when I wanted to! Thanks for putting me at ease, ladies!
yes, absolutely
i almost always ended up waiting for dh to get home, but on days i felt grubby id shower during a nap

Unless I feel disgusting, I wait until DH gets home. I have put him in his bouncy in the bathroom with me. He liked the sound of the water.
