Have you opened a bank account for LO?

I've been meaning to setup a savings account for DS.  If you've done so, did you put it in their name or in yours?

Yep.  It's one of the first things that we did when she was born.  We set up a "minor account" for her at our bank, and yes, it is in her name.  I used to nanny for a family that would deposit a certain dollar amount into each child's account for college each time they got a paycheck.  I LOVED this idea.  So, each time DH gets paid, we put $25 in her account. We've been doing this since the first week she was born.

It is on my list of things to do.  But I think i am going to open a CD instead of a savings account because they earn more interest.

I haven't made it to the bank to set it up yet, so it's in his piggy bank right now. Hopefully I get there this week then once we have the account number we will direct deposit money out of each of our paychecks weekly.

Not yet... I actually hadn't thought of it, to be honest.  I think we will at some point soon, though.  BTW, my DS has that same onesie and he's wearing it today!

Not yet, bc we still haven't received her social security card.  It takes 12 weeks in IL.  But when we get it we will start a childrens savings acct for her.  Grandma is going to give us money for it as well.
