We have just started TTC (as in this week) and I was on the pill for 11 years. I stopped it a few days ago. I want to do the ovulation calendar on Fertility Friend but I just took two pill packs back to back to skip my last period so I don't know what to put as the first day of my last period. I think it was around October 15. Do I put that date in or wait until my next period comes?
Also, is cramping a common side effect for when you stop the pill? I was supposed to start my next period on Thursday of next week if I had stayed on the pill, and I don't normally get cramps until a couple of days before.
Re: New and coming off pill question
I was on bc for 7 years and trust me, your body will tell you the difference after coming off of it! BC really tones down the cramps, so yes, you will feel them earlier now that you aren't on it. Also, don't expect your cycle to be regular right away, it does take a couple of months (usually) to regulate.
As far as FF, I would put your last ACTUAL period, as you did trick your body into skipping your period.
Good luck!
I would wait until your next period starts to start a cycle in FF. If you took more than one pill pack and then stopped, I would think that AF would come pretty soon, since the withdrawal bleed is triggered by stopping the hormones. That may be why you are cramping now - you stopped the pills sooner and will therefore get your period sooner.
The most common side effects that I have seen on here from stopping the pill are headaches, dizziness, and acne.
I charted my first cycle off of BCP and started my first cycle as the first AF after BCP (does that make sense?) You will still get the period that you normally get from your BCP. Your body won't know you aren't taking them until you "skip" the first pill of your next pack, so you should get AF as planned. And it sounds like you're having PMS now. Mine was worse when I came off of BCP because the hormones were keeping my cramps and such under control.
Your body will be doing crazy things, so don't read too much into it. If you go 60 days without AF and a negative HPT, call your doctor.

Thank you all! This does indeed seem like PMS and I will probably get AF in the next few days. I'm so glad to be off BCP for many reasons.... one is that I really think it was affecting my mood more than I ever knew but I just kept taking it out of fear of getting PG.
About FF, do I have to have an invitation to join? I tried to sign up and they denied me. Is there a code or something I need?
