4-month wakeful

Sarah is almost 4 months and has been sleeping really badly lately. She has not trouble falling asleep and her first few hours of night sleep are really good. But in the last week, she kept waking up at 4:30, crying and needing her paci replaced to go back to sleep. This repeats usually a couple more times until she is up and awake at 7. She is not hungry at these times but just tired and cranky. And last night she woke 8 times between 4 am and 7 am. It felt like torture to always go to sleep for 10 minutes, only to wake up again to calm her down. She should be really tired and now even napping is a challenge. I hope this passes soon! I am exhausted.

  • Sounds awful...Havent hit that point yet.
  • I've had a nights like that in the past couple of weeks too.
  • I had two straight weeks of the exact same thing....we've had three days of good sleep so far...

  • Maybe at that point you can take her into bed with you? She might be more comforted & sleep?

  • Thanks everybody! I hope she is feeling better tonight.

Fiazo - she refuses to fall asleep in bed with us. She actually gets quite upset when we take her into bed with us and has never been able to sleep there, not sure why. I do sleep in her room when she is like that so I am closer to her and don't have to rush upstairs when I hear her cry on the monitor.

  • I PRAY that Aaron does not go through this phase and am so sorry that Sarah is?especially since she's slept so well for you thus far.

It's only been in the last week that Aaron has been sleeping well. I won't say he's STTN yet because I know it can stop in an instance. But he has done so 6 of the last 8 nights and I'm hoping the trend is for sleep now.

Hoping your LO sleeps better tonight, SF!

  • LO is finally sleeping longer hours and I'm not looking forward to things getting screwed up again. Maybe he'll skip the 4 month wakeful... wishful thinking!!!
