what birth control did you use post-baby?

I'm leaning towards an IUD but am curious what other people chose.

I wanted an IUD, but my doctor didn't recommend it (read: wouldn't do it) for me if we were planning on another.  I was on BCP, but i was a lunatic and had no sex drive.  I tossed them less than 3 months PP and now I am charting to avoid, using OPKs and condoms when I am ovulating.

I am still unsure, but I have 5 more weeks to decide.  I hate to do anything hormonal b/c of my PCOS but I don't know what's a better option. I want to try again next year.

NuvaRing.  I liked it a lot but it did kill my sex drive (or maybe that was because I had a baby and wasn't getting any sleep, haha).

I just went back on the pill as soon as I could (didn't BF so no problems there).  I wanted an IUD but with my fuucked up uterus that still has a bit of a septum left at the top, my OB didn't think it would be a good idea.  I don't LIKE the pill, but for us it's a better option than condoms or charting to avoid.

I used the mini pill while breastfeeding. I never trusted it and was constantly convinced I was pregnant again!

Switched to regular BCP once I stopped BFing. Same as I was on before TTC.

I should add I can never go back on hormonal birth control - so I have to do a nonhormonal IUD, condoms/charting or the mini pill b/c of my DVT 2 years ago. I hated the mini pill so I am not keen on going back on that. Once we decide for sure we're done with babies I will definitely get a permanent solution done (tubes tied or something).

honestly though... it's more like abstinance since we've only had sex twice since she arrived.

I havent spoken to the doctor yet but I am leaning towards an IUD. I think we want to wait around 3 years before trying for #2. I plan to breastfeed so mini pill with a 2nd protection since I am paranoid is also an option. I am guessing I should bring this up sometime soon or wait until the 1st pp visit??

Actually, I can't go on hormonal birth control either.  So we decided that we are just going to see what happens.    I hate condoms and pull and pray...well you know. I would be thrilled getting pregnant again.  So who knows.

Yuck.

Though, I have to say, it's not like we have a lot of time to have sex anyway. We also co-sleep so she's in our room. DH doesn't totally like that.
