TTC After a Loss

I'm just full of questions today. (AF mentioned)

So, as some background, my 1st AF after the m/c was really strange just because I was spotting almost all the way up until she started.  There was a 2 day break in between, and then she hit full force.

We started ttc after that, and AF came again this Thursday.  My question is...when AF started this time, it was really heavy the 1st day, medium yesterday, and now already light.  I would normally have about 3-4 days of a pretty steady flow, so this is really light for me.

Could this mean that I'm having a progesterone issue?  Maybe I didn't build much prog. this cycle, and that's why my flow is so light?  Is this where the recommended Pom juice comes into play?

Sorry to have so many questions...just one more thing to add to my over-obsessive arsenal!

  • If you are worried about it you can call your doctor and ask to have a prog test.

If it helps any, my periods changed after the m/c. They used to be medium for a few days and then light and that was it and lasted a total of 5 or so days. After the m/c it is cd1 light, cd2 heavy where I think I am going to die, cd3 med, cd4 light and almost gone. Now they are 4 days tops.

This does help.  That sounds very similar to what I'm experiencing.  I'm hesitant to call my dr this early in the ttc game, but if it'll help, I might.  I would have to wait until the 2ww to get tested, right?

  • I'm not sure that a short AF is a sign of progesterone issues, I thought it meant that the uterine lining was weak. (Unless THAT is related to progesterone. I truly have no idea) I would just keep good track of my cycles and call the doc, normally they don't see you until you've had more than 3 or 4 cycles of weirdness, not counting your loss. I would start drinking POM juice now and see if that helps.

Yes I believe so. I honestly don't remember. I also have a short LP and the progesterone test came back normal so they said not to worry about it. I don't know if you have a similar problem, but they can at least test.

I wasn't sure either...but I think the weak lining is a prog. thing.  That's why I was wondering if I should look into it.  And I agree it's probably too early to start talking to the dr. about it.  I think I'll just stock up on pom juice and see if my body can get it's act together and work something out.  I hope the pom juice helps quickly because I'm not looking forward to AF after pom.  From what I hear, it's pretty intense!!

  • That's how my cycle has always been.  I don't have any prog. problems though.  Not that I know of.  I will tell you this, that even with my cycle like that, baby #1 was a one time in the month BD fluke, baby #1 was one month of trying, m/c #1 first month BFP, m/c #2 either first or second month of trying.  Hasn't affected me getting pregnant in other words.  And they haven't found a reason that I m/c (I've been thoroughly tested).
  • What's the deal with pom juuice? What's it supposed to do/help? I'm new to the TTC game.
