Babies: 0 - 3 Months

What do you think of my cognitive delelopment theory?

So...we just got though a couple day of fussiness all.day.long.  (DS 2 was 9 weeks old yesterday.)  I remember DS 1going through the same thing about about 2 months and then again at 3 months.  Those days sucked...I tried everything to calm them. Nothing worked!  So here's my theory...

I think that those were times right after they went through a big period of cognitive development and they were having trouble adjusting the the "new world around them".

 What do you think?

  • That sounds realistic actually. I like that--and it will help me when LO is doing the same thing... Thank you!

  • DD just turned 9 weeks too, and she has been having alot more fussy nights than usual. That totally makes sense, she also seems ALOT more aware of her surroundings too, just in the past week.
  • Sounds good to me! My first baby was very fussy until about 4 months. I remember the pedi telling me that the world can be pretty scary when you can't see well and don't really know what's going on.
  • I think that sounds really smart.  It would make sense b/c at that age they are becoming so much more aware of what's going on around them. I like it...
