I just got double billed!

The lactation consultant charged DS and me separately!  I am shocked -especially considering I had to go back because she ignored my complaints in the hospital by saying wait to see if it stops hurting.  

Did you get two bills from you LC?

DS and I got separate hospital bills; our in-hospital lactation consults are covered on those.  I did have a consult with an LC after we got home, but it was at a separate facility and they charge a flat rate.

  I figured we would get one bill too because it was one problem (he was hyperlactating and it hurt!) it just involved the two of us.  It's not like we got twice as much time or two appointments.  I am so annoyed that I have to shell out another $60.  Ugh.

I would call your insurance company and ask them if that's a common billing practice.

At the very least they might be able to tell you that's normal. You would still be steamed but you wouldn't have to wonder if you actually had to pay that much.

And you could call the office/hospital that sent the bill. Just to be sure. After all you've had to pay for your medical stuff and all you will have to pay for the baby, I don't think there's anything wrong with double checking why you're being billed that way. GL!
