STTN tips

I know that a baby will STTN when they are good and ready, but are there any ways to encourage this more?

I have tried cluster feeding at night time.

I have tried a bedtime routine consisting of feeding, bath, story/song, etc.

What has worked for you?

TIA for any tips!

Re: STTN tips

  • Sounds like you're doing all you can. STTN is a tough thing. My 14 month old still doesn't STTN all the time....so good luck!

PS-  My son's name is Sawyer too. Great name!

  • My LO has slept through the night a handful of times (I realize at this point it is a fluke since she is so young) and I have found that when I let her cluster feed for 3 hours or so at night and feed her one last time at 10pm, she will sleep for 7 hours. I have started rocking her in the dark nursery too around 9pm to get her used to a bedtime routine. She still sets the schedule because of her age, but the past week we have been getting solid sleep from about 11pm to 6 or 7am.
  • i pushed them back 30 min at a time. when they would cry i would get up and put a paci in and stall them or just let them cry for a little while. i have a hard time ignoring them all together, which is why i just did it 30 min at a time. now they sleep from (last feeding at 10-10:30) 11pm until 7am, which is close enough to STTN for me for now.
