TTC After a Loss

Cooking...

My MIL is cooking in my kitchen...I HATE THIS!  Anyone else?!  She comments on where I keep things, makes a mess, and doesn't clean up.  At the end of the night she will leave and I will be left to load the dishwasher and clean up the rest of the kitchen and dining area!  I appreciate the cooking but...do it at home if you want to cook for us!

Vent over...thanks!

Re: Cooking...

  • I wouldn't allow that...and if for some off reason it did happen I would HAVE to make a comment about how its more sanitary to keep things cleaned up, wiped down and the dirty dishes put in the dish washer as you cook... I can't STAND it when DH cooks because he is a messsss

  • I hear you, I don't like people in my kitchen either.

Maybe go in there while she is still cooking and ask her very pointedly if she knows how to work your dishwasher: "Just wanted to make sure, I know it's a little different from yours..." or something like that?

  • The ONLY person I can cook with is my Mom, and that's because we do everything the same. (Cause she taught me how to cook.)

Our big fight is that she uses a dishcloth and I use a sponge.  It was drama 3 years ago so I now have 2 nice dishcloths for the rare occasion she cooks in my kitchen.
