Well, as most of you know I was given the "go ahead" about 3wks ago from my pedi to start on the cereal. I was a little concerned as most moms and docs had mentioned to only start at 6months, but I figured since he was such a big boy and drinking so much formula, then maybe this was why. Well, I didn't listen to the pedi and decided to wait another 3wks. Bringing us to today. He.loved.it! He couldn't get enough of this stuff on a spoon. I'm still glad I waited though .... )

Glad he liked it, Now is he using less formula? My pedi said formula for one year and they hold off on cereal and food for as long as possible.
For now it's cereal 1x a day and the rest formula, in a few days, i'll go for cereal 2x a day and the rest formula ... and so on. I also mix the cereal with the formula and warm it up. I'll observe him and see in a few weeks where we are at and discuss it with my pedi and you gals. He usually has some pretty great tell tale signs of when he's "done" with something so I think it'll be pretty easy identifying when he's ready to move on to something tastier! Lately he's been looking at us eating and has this look on his face of "How come I can't have that?" LOL

Yeah... I was REALLY surprised too! We tried putting some in the bottle at first (the day before) and although he "drank" it, he was struggling ...even with it being very watery and a #2 nipple... so I was like scratch that, let me try the baby spoon and voila!....at one point he actually grabbed my hand and pulled the spoon closer to his mouth ... LOL!

I can't wait until Aaron is allowed to have rice cereal. He watches us eat so intently. I'll be starting him at 4 months (my Ped said he'd get the go-ahead then) and plan to video the first meal.
