travel system? snap and go? there are so many options!
i think we'll end up getting 2 strollers...one for hikes/jogging and one for more regular use. i guess it's all a matter of opinion, but there are just so many freakin' choices!
My suggestion is to write down all your wants and needs. Then test drive them in stores. My biggest priority was a stroller that was light weight. So I crossed off all strollers that weighed more then 20 lbs. Then I had more requirements, such as a recline-able seat, easy to fold, decent sized basket underneath.
I then got a snap and go for quick trips to the doctors and places. I don't anticipate spending much time outside until April or May when it gets nicer here. So wanted that super light weight option for the carseat.
I don't think there is any 1 stroller that fits everyones needs.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I would start with the snap and go and then wait until the baby is born to decide what else you need.
We used the snap and go for the first few months. We also have a phil and ted--it's great for walks around the neighborhood, trails,etc...but now my DD is one and I think we also need an umbrella stroller for the shopping trips, travel,etc...
I definitely would NOT invest in a travel system but that is just me.
I know a lot of people who love their uppa baby strollers.
We have a snap and go and a more all-terrainish stroller (Easy Walker Sky). We will probably get an umbrella stroller also to have something small that we can use after we can't use the Snap n Go anymore.
We have the Chicco travel system and we Love it, however we are expecting baby #2 and it doesn't fit the snap and go's we tried it. And Chicco doesn't really make a tandem stroller, only an umbrella stroller for doubles. Which will accommodate an infant, but experience tells me that I am not going to want to take DS out of carseat to get in and out of a stroller.
I thought the Baby Bargains book was great for evaluating what your different options are. You'll also definitely want to test drive in the store. Don't be afraid to roll it down the aisles and figure out how easy/hard it is to fold up. Some models, for what ever reason, we kicked as we walked, so we ruled those out. Think also about where you'll store it in your house - what kind of room do you have? We ended up with a cheap snap-and-go we got off of craigslist, and our ILs got us a City Mini Baby Jogger as a present.

I have a travel system and still use the stroller everyday (Graco Quattro Tour). I also have a Maclaren Volo for short trips or crowded places.
My DD is 15 months BTW.
The highest rated ones are the Chicco and Graco Quattro Tour.
And don't spend a fortune on a stroller, especially if you plan on having more kids in the near future (because then you will probably buy a double) It really isn't worth it.
