I need one desperately for my home office. This room does NOT get proper heating. I'm thinking it's my best alternative, but I've always been worried about how much they cost to run. If I run it for maybe 10 hours a week (pretty much on weekends only while I'm typing in my office - it's my 2nd job) do you think that would cause a major spike in my electric bill? Does anyone have experience? Thanks.

Re: Does anyone here have a space heater?
We have a space heater that we sometimes run when DH is working in his lab in the garage or out on the patio when I want to read outside.
DH can work all day for three days with it on and we haven't noticed much of a difference in our bill. It's about the cost of running a fan most of the day.
A lot of the cost is going to depend on the type of heater you get. Try to find one that claims that it's "earth friendly" or energy efficient.
And stay warm! It's hard to type with cold fingers
Thanks! I know, typing is becoming incredibly difficult as the weather gets colder. I keep messing up because my typing is hindered by cold bones.
I'm going to have DH run out right now and get me one!
