Anyone repainted a glider?

My friend gave me her glider. It is in great condition but has a few dings here and there. I was wondering if anyone has repainted theirs and how it came out? Is it even worth the hassle?

    I have a rocking chair that I stained the wood on and love it. I sanded it down to get the dings out and then stained it a dark color. The project was easy and it looks great.
