What's the point of shopping @ 4am when...

you can just sit at home and do it online starting at midnight?  I'm not a crowd person so I've never understood the appeal of doing this.

Pretty sure there have been people camped out at Best Buy and Toys'R'Us since 7pm.  There is NOTHING that I want bad enough to wait out in the cold for it like that.

Ok maybe a Dyson but even that's a stretch.

That is what I am doing.  My dad gave us the money to get Allie a Powerwheels.  I am hoping to get one on-line, if not I have ot go to the store.  Barf.  I may be up all night.  Wanna drive up and keep me company.

We are going at 4 for a stand mixer.

I don't want to pay shipping fees, so I'd rather go out, because I have to ship all my gifts out anyway.

Plus, I'm weird and kinda like it.

Most places are doing free shipping this year or cheap.  I think WM is doing $.97 shipping.

That kinda makes sense.  Most of the deals I've seen that have caught my eye are online too so it's canceled out any desire to go. 

Plus I'm almost done w/Christmas shopping anyway.  I always get stuck looking at stuff I want for ME when black Friday sales come around! LOL

This is very true lol. That's why I bring DH. I can point things out, then go off to shop for other people and he can buy them all

I kind of enjoy it. And it will be "me" time. Plus the dvd player I want for the car isn't in stock online, so I figure I'll get to WM at 4 and sit in the car and drink my coffee (assuming the line isn't long).

Then I'm off to Target of pj's and board games, then ON for a new coat and snow pants for Z. The home for breakfast. I bet I'll be home by 7. Or maybe we can go out for breakfast, do some grocery shopping, then come home and veg. And in the afternoon we can put up the tree.

So anyway. It is funsies. And I will probably find a few things for me, and that's always fun too.

I LOVE going out on Black Friday. However, I don't leave my house until around 7 AM and I have never waited in a line with more than 2 people in front of me. I will not go to stores like Kohls, Best Buy, etc and instead go to Sears (presents for DH, FIL, dad), Michaels/Joanns for Christmas decorations and home decorating stuff, Target (but later in the day when the crowds have cleared), etc. I look forward to the "me" time every year and this year I am looking forward to it even more. I'm going out with my mom and can't wait!

I'm heading out at 3 to go stand in line for a Nintendo DS for my son. It's on sale for $98, which is a great deal! This is the only thing my son has been wanting for Christmas, so I'm pulling out all the stops to make it happen.

So, I tried to take your advice and shop online, even though it's not cold here at all.

And Kohls crashed 18 times, emptied out my shopping card 3 times, and I gave up and am waking up at 3:45.

So that's why I don't want to shop online!!!

Kohls site was a POS last night..I was trying to find IDEAS to give MIL and it was soooo slow.  I am headed there in a little bit to see if perhaps they still have the 2 items I wanted but didnot want to wake up at 4 am for.

I can definitely see the appeal of both sides - in store and online - so I guess its whatever does it for you, power to ya.  I for one cannot think of ANYTHING I would want so badly to wait out in front of Best Buy at 7pm the night before.... that, to me, is just crazy.
