So, Now I'm Hosting Thanksgiving...

The original plan was to go to my parent's house for a small-ish Thanksgiving - just them, us, the kids, and my sister and her fiance.  My DH and I were planning to cook the turkey, and that was going to involve crazy schlepping, but whatever.

My mom called.  Dad has the flu.  Obviously, we can't go near that, nor can we go near anyone else who has.  So my parents are skipping Thanksgiving, my sister and her fiance are taking a taxi straight over from the airport, and I have this twenty pound turkey.

Also, I have a chocolate cake.  That was what I agreed to provide for the holiday - turkey and dessert.  So I'm good to go on those.  No one will want any side dishes, right?  They can all drink tap water and like it, right?

I need to get my ass up out of this chair and go clean the dining room and the spare room before DS gets home from daycare, and then I have the grocery shopping list to end all grocery shopping lists, which I will have to handle while taking DD to the store.  On the most aggravated grocery shopping day of the year.

I expect that the next time my phone rings, it will be someone explaining to me why I have to go to the mall on Friday.  And I will reach through the phone and strangle them.
