When to buy the crib?

When did you buy your crib? And when did you put it up? I didn't think I would really buy anything (big) until after 20 weeks, but I'm finding so many good deals on cribs that I really don't want to pass up. We're not finding out the sex so it doesn't matter that its gender specific.

DO it at any point. I waited because I had spefic wants for either boy or girl, but it also took 12 weeks to come in once I ordered it, so it was not here until I was 32 weeks. At that point, I had the nursery painted and ready for it.

We bought ours last weekend. I wanted to wait until 24 weeks, but I also wanted to avoid the holiday madness (and things being back ordered). Do it whenever you're comfortable!

I may be in the vast minority but..

Our crib, dresser, and changing table were all ordered at 6 weeks. (Gift from my Mother)

The dresser and changing table have both been put together but we haven't put the crib together yet.

DH was going to do it last weekend but we got busy. (lazy lol)

I'm not sure when we will put the crib together but it will prob be before the year is out.

i ordered the crib and dresser/changing table at around 17 weeks.  It takes 10-12 weeks to come in so it should be here by mid to end of January.

With both of mine we got the crib early to mid pregnancy. If you have alternative arrangements (like a bassinet or pack-n-play) then there's really not a hurry to get it while you're pregnant. I always feel rushed by good deals but it's rare that good deals on cribs are one in a million. Make sure you research well. The CPSC recalled 2 million cribs this week and is now saying drop sides aren't safe at all.

My parents bought it as a gift for us at 16 weeks. We put it together at 18 wks.

We ordered ours at 30 weeks - just because it took us awhile to find one we liked. It was delivered in 2 weeks via PBKids- but I know that some cribs do take a really long time to come in.

Do it when you can and when you are comfortable with ordering it.  We ordered the crib and dresser/changing table the first weekend in August and we are still waiting on the dresser/changing table.  They told us it would take 2-3 months and it has been 4.  Had I known it was going to take this long, I probably would have ordered them sooner.

I think we purchased it while I was like 27 weeks because it was on sale and we had coupons! Wound up saving over $300!!! I'm 35w now and it's still in our garage.
