Success after IF

My eyes are BURNING from oven self-clean cycle DH insisted on.

The smoke detector has already gone off as the oven proceeds to immolate every speck of old food dripping contained within (and there were plenty.)  My house smells like burnt steak grease.

We'll have a clean oven for Turkey Day, and at least the big bird won't smell like burnt steak grease.  But my eyes are still burning.

Wheee!

  • Sounds bad, but do you know what's worse? Cleaning an oven WITHOUT a self cleaning feature....welcome to my life :( Crappy old oven.

  • Yuck-- I did the manual "easy off oven cleaner" with a toaster oven a few years back.  It was never the same!  Those fumes are yucky!

BTW-- not sure how long you've had your siggy pic or if you've heard this before, but your DH totally looks like Luke Wilson!

  • I think you're supposed to clean the visible bits of food first.  At least that's what our manual says.  I just sprayed a bit of vinegar on them and then wiped them down.  Regardless, it still stunk, but at least there was no smoke.

HA HA!!  Oops.  Oh well, they've been incinerated.

    Wheee!
