Cross post from 2nd tri board:
HELP-I am having my bedding made and I can't decide between these two options. On one hand I like the multiple fabric option-more babyish but I also like the look of the black/white damask with tiffany blue. Opinions please ![]()
So here's the multiple fabric (it goes with the style of bedding below it)

I would use this design with the fabric above. I would only use two/three of the fabrics for the bumper and skirt. The rest of the fabric would be used in the quilt.

or here is the black and white damask with tiffany blue accent (goes with bedding style below it)

I would use this design with the fabric above

Re: Cross Post-Bedding Opinions please PIP
wow, that is a very ornate set. because it's so heavy on the styling, i'd go with the less complicated pattern (the second option) hands down. if you're going to pay (i can only assume!) a large amount of money for something that is custom made, you will want to enjoy the small details. i'm just afraid the first option would be so overwhelming with color and ruffle and pucker and patterns that you wouldn't get to appreciate all the work that went into the set because you'd be so focused on the ruffle-color-splosion!
definitely the black/white and tiffany. definitely.
This, exactly. If you're set on black/white damask as a starting point, then I would bring in only one accent color on top of that. Your first design photo is really, really not my style -- too many ruffles, exacerbated by the two competing very bright accent colors... I think having just the Tiffany blue makes the set much more manageable.
Thanks for the opinions. The main thing I was worried about was too many patterns with the first one. I honestly don't like the look of the style of the first one, but it's the closest to what I could find. I would remove the ruffle on the bedskirt. I have some of the fabric laid out and it looks way different put together than the style of the first one. It was hard to imagine so I had to see it laying together. Maybe I should take a picture of that and post?
Hmmm, but the again, I was already leaning towards the black and white...so I may just go that route.
