Inserts and doublers

I was just wondering how many extra inserts or doublers CD moms out there have?  Which ones are the best?  I obviously haven't started CD and am beginning to wonder if I should get extras.  At what age did you really start to need the extra fluff?  Thanks!

Re: Inserts and doublers

  • I think hemp and bamboo are both popular choices :)

I have several hemp inserts from Artsy Fartsy Foo Foo and love them.  They are really long so that you can fold them to get the absorbency where you need it.

I think she stocks on the 1st and 15th of each month on Hyena Cart

    Don't quote me on that!

  • I have enough inserts for our 5 BG or similar pocket diapers plus about 3 extra so I can double up if needed for long trips. I also have one each of the hemp/MF combo inserts and a separate (home made) hemp insert for each of our Blueberry Pockets which we use at night.

I bought a few random doublers early on just to see what they were all about, so it is kind of an odd mix. I have a few thirsties velour, a thirsties hemp, and a few Kissaluvs doublers. I use them occasionally in our few AIOs for added absorbency, or as a protective layer if we are using diaper creme. I sometimes also tuck one into a pocket diaper for a little extra absorbency without the bulk of a second full insert.
