I have a lot of questions about what to buy/makes sense for twins. I don't want to be a pain, but I am a first time mom and VERY confused. I am thinking I should join the Twin Club in Lancaster so I could connect with other moms. Is that the best route?

My best friend has twins who are turning one next week. If you have specific questions, I'm sure she'd be glad to answer them - she's not a bumpie, but if you post them here or send me a PM, I can get the answers back to you. And she did join the KMOM (Keystone Mothers of Multiples) group and I think that helped her out a lot.
Not a mom of twins myself, but I saw your BF question and thought I'd share...
A mom I met through Hershey's BF group is a mom of twin girls who were born 2 months early. She successfully BFed for 14 months, to a year from their due date. She said it wasn't easy by any means -- she had to pump exclusively at first, 12 times a day, since the girls were in NICU -- but she was determined to make it work. She is very glad to have stuck with it and said all the hard work was worth it in the end.
And my husband's aunt BFed her twin boys traditionally (albeit 17 years ago) with great success. She has a couple of great pics from when they were little, each latched on to a boob.
I think if you can talk to a LC before you're due (so you know what to expect) and find a support group (particularly a BF group) it would help a lot.
She has several strollers for different occasions. A front/back Snap and Go for when they were in infant seats and a side-by-side umbrella stroller for when they got older. They did not do a travel system.
And she mainly pumped in the beginning but switched to formula pretty quickly. Some people can successfully BF twins, but she was not one of them and she was fine with that. I do second the suggestion to start working with an LC in advance so you know what special challenges you might have with twins and start to work out solutions ahead of time so that you're even more educated when the time comes.
Congratulations on the twins!! How wonderful!! I am on here off and on but my e-mail is saradruck1978@comcast.net. Feel free to ask any questions! There is also a multiples board on here... I know that there is another Central PA nestie who is pg with twins who frequents that board.
OMG....thank you so much! A couple questions that I had were:
1. What kind of stroller did she get? (i.e. umbrella twin stroller or a travel system) I am finding this to be difficult to figure out.
2. Was she able to BF? That is my goal, but I am not sure how hard this is with twins.
I am sure there are many other things but these are the only questions I can think of right now.
and to answer your questions 1) We had the Graco Duoglider and I loved it! We did get a side by side stroller for their first birthday but most of them do not work well with car seats. The ladies on the multiples board will have tons of information on that as well....
2) I kinda BF I did start with BF and pumping. My two were in the NICU and it was easier for them to use a bottle in the beginning so I pumped for them. Jack was a champ and did great with the breast... Bella was a little lazy and prefered the bottle. It got hard on me trying to BF because you are the only one that can do it so I ended up pumping and then when they were 4 months I switched to formula, it was just so much easier for me. I was very happy to have made it that long. Many ladies were not able to do it at all and there are some that make it well over a year. My advice is to get this pillow
it helped a lot because you are able to feed them both at the same time. Also don't be too hard on yourself... do what you can but don't beat yourself up if you are not able to do it for as long as you like, I was kind of hard on myself.
Again page me here or e-mail me with any questions.... I am always happy to help out another twin mama!!

Good luck, and congrats on your twins!
