The zithromax isn?t working for his EI. He can?t take augmentin because he broke out in hives last time (penicillin allergy). He?s in such pain, grabbing his ear and is just so cranky.
This morning he threw a tantrum because he wanted to hold his milk, his butterfly book and Bobbo (his owl), but he couldn?t hold all three at once. He?d freak out if I helped him, but then freak out when he dropped something (which he inevitably did). Oy. Hold me, I don?t know how much more of this I can take. Where did my nice, easily distracted boy go?
Re: My poor little guy. Hold me.
I am sorry that he isn't feeling well. My sister is a nurse and gave me a temporary fix for ear infections. My neice gets terrible ear infections still at age 8 and she says this makes her ears feel better until teh medicine starts working. Warm some olive oil...make sure it is just lukewarm, not hot. Put a couple drops of the warm olive oil in his ear. This may provide a little relief.
Hope he feels better soon.
thanks for the suggestions guys! He's at daycare right now. I feel horrible but I could NOT be out today (I've already taken off twice in the past 2 weeks for him) and have a major deadline to meet. Thankfully, at daycare, they say he's good until the other kids go home--I guess he gets distracted by playing. And he eats and naps better there. But I'm leaving early to take him to the pedi.
x--he started on Friday--they should have kicked in by now!
Try warmed up garlic oil. I know sounds weird, but my friend's dr. suggested it once the meds didn't work on her sons EI. It's also what Dr. Sears and other Drs suggest.
You can google it, but here is it C&P from ask dr.sears
yeah it should have!
ohhh poor thing!
what about omnicef (sp)... I think that was the only one that worked for Ethan's first EI.... after amoxicillin and augmentin did not work. I am not sure if it also has penicillin though......
p.s. and I was going to suggest garlic too.
