I might have been rude

but I think it was the right thing to do.  We're staying with the ILs one night for Thanksgiving and I just e-mailed them to see if their crib is a drop down and what brand it is.  I couldn't remember!  I also put the link about the crib recall in the e-mail.  They watch the news on a regular basis so I'm thinking they probably heard about it, but I just thought I'd make sure.  We'd be happy to bring our PNP!  Some people might think that's rude, but I had to do it!

Re: I might have been rude

  • I did the same thing with the last crib recall and I'm going to email my MIL about this one too.  I don't think it's rude- safety is the most important thing!

  • eh- I don't think it is rude. I called my mom this morning. I have no idea what type she has other than it came from walmart. She said she was planning to check today. I don't think I will bring the pack n play for us this week - probably if she was still an infant though. Hopefully you all won't have to deal with it being on the recall list!

  • I sent my mom the same thing, but it didn't feel rude b/c it's my mom and that just feels different.  My mom's crib is a drop down though so we might just bring the PNP anyways!

  • I don't think it's rude at all.  I'm sure your MIL would want to know about the safety issue if she wasn't aware so as to not put your DD in danger.  At least I would hope that's how she looks at it.

  • If that was rude, then I plan on being rude later as well.  My ILs just don't watch for things like that and don't get the emails I do.

I have 4 nieces and nephews that sleep in it regularly, so I would feel awful if something happened because I didn't say anything.  Caroline slept in it this weekend, but luckily she doesn't move from her positioner so she wouldn't have been at risk.
