Joining the board...Nipple question

Hi Ladies!  LO was born on 11-17-09 after 40 hours of labor that ended in a c-section.  It was a long one but we both made it through healthy and happy and just in time for Turkey Day!

Question on nipples...I am doing both breast feeding and formula (my nipples got so sore in the first 3 days I decided to pump to allow them time to heal and then try again - they are just about back in shape!.).  Any way, when I give LO the bottle, I can't find a nipple that is slow enough to prevent him from drinking 2oz. in 2 minutes.  I end up having to stop him every 20-30 seconds to burp him and feel bad because he wants to suck and is hungry.  I have tried a few...but was curious if you all had any suggestions?

this exactly what happened to me - pedi Rx a nip break! Born Free level 1 worked well for us. did try a couple others but liked these best and have stayed with them.

My sympathies...44 hours then a CS for me.

Q for you...did you happen to try to hypnobirth?  I know of another woman who tried it and also ended up w a marathon labor turn CS.

Oh and I dont know about the nipple thing.

I never BF but we love born free bottles. I used the level 1 from day one and we had no problems at all!! Congrats and welcome !!!

I used Dr. Brown's 4 oz bottles with level 1 nipples and had no problems.

2 ounces in two minutes?  No wonder your nipples are sore!  Ouch!

No advice on the bottles, Miss Wiggly's a slow eater.
