What do you think of the name Remy for a girl?

    Jerry Remy aka "the Rem Dog" is a very popular sports personality in Red Sox nation (that spans to a lot of different places other then Boston) so I immediately think of him and the 1000's of dogs that were named after him in this area.
    A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
    After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
    My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

    Is it Ray-me or Rem-e?

    I know a Remy prounced Ray-me and she is the sweetest little girl. It's NMS, but I do think it's cute.

    Honestly, it makes me think of the rat chef from the Disney film Ratatouille.  It's also a traditional French boy name.  NMS at all.

    I really don't like it. Our friend has a Ford "remington" edition truck, and everyone calls it his "remy." It is cheesy and it just doesn't translate at all to a child. I know that probably doesn't ruin it for you though Smile

    I think it's VERY cute...I know a boy Remy, but I think it works for a girl, too.  Unique and sweet.

    Remy is my kitty's name. Male kitty (full name = Remy Martin, and his sister was Stoli. Hey, they're cats!). I also met a man named Remy - he was our bartender in St. Lucia.

    I went to college with a guy name Remy in New Orleans. His family was of French descent. I think it would work well for a girl also.

    I love the Rem Dog!  My Dad went to high school with him.

    Remy is NMS as a baby name.

    I think it's really cute. My H loves it.

    We have considered it, but we occasionally call DD2 "Brynnie", so I don't think it would work for us. I also love Romy.

     Olivia Wilde's character on House is named Remy and I think it suits her well.

    seriously????  lol... would you avoid Jack because of Jack Daniels? Jim because of Jim Beam? Morgan because of Captain Morgan??   The list goes on.  There are so many names that have connotations with alcohol.. make sure you avoid them all!
