I know it got good ratings in Consumer Reports, and it's on sale for $157.70, which is about $30 off from everywhere else I've seen it. What are your thoughts on it? Buy now or wait?

While the weight limit is great rather than the 22lbs for the regular chicco the baby will most likely outgrow the height requirement way before the weight limit. Just a thought. We had the regular 22lbs chicco seat and stopped using it at 6 months 1. it was too heavy to lug around anymore and 2. he was too long for the seat
I have it. Some things to consider though is that the Key fit does not sit in many car seat stroller frames. So if you are looking to get a snap n go or a stroller other then chicco, you should be aware of that and do research on what can be used with it.
Would I buy it at 11 weeks pregnant, no I would wait because I know there will be deals further down the line and 2010 lines will be coming out which may have better features.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

I decided against the keyfit 30 due to the fact that I wouldnt be carrying a 30 lb infant around in it and it didnt fit properly into the universal strollers. You really need the chicco stroller for it to fit correctly.
So I just got the chicco travel system that comes with the keyfit that is up to 20 lbs.
I liked our keyfit30. I guess it depends on what you are thinking of for your stroller. I'm still bummed most of the double strollers aren't compatible.
I'd wait since you've got a ways to go. I liked it until DS developed a skin sensitivity and got a rash because of the fabric. It's not very breathable at all. I'd get one with a softer more breathable fabric.

Thanks everyone! I'll definitely hold off and consider a convertible car seat.
Be cautious choosing a convertible seat. Some say (like Britax) that they are good from 5lbs + but that isn't true. You should see what a newborn looks like in a Britax seat. Totally unsafe. My 23 month old daughter is on the lowest harness slot, so can you image how it might look on a newborn?
I love mine. While they are right about you probably not wanting to carry around 30 pounds, the 30 inches in height is worth it to me. My DD is around 15 lbs but almost 27 inches. She couldn't still use the 22 one.

We have the Keyfit 30 and have been happy with it. I haven't taken it out for several months, though, because it is quite heavy.
If I had to do it all over again, I would have gone with a convertible seat that works for babies and toddlers.
