Bed-sharers

How are you working this? With our first, DH was deployed until DS was 6 months old so there was plenty of room. Now, DH is around (much nicer!) but I feel like our queen-sized bed is not big enough for the 3 of us to sleep safely. I was looking at something like the Snuggle Nest but it seems like it would take up too much room. Honestly, I looked to see if our furniture was still being manufactured because I would buy a king-sized bed just to fix this.

Re: Bed-sharers

  • Well I don't always follow the bed sharing "rules" & we have a king, BUT we put her in between us at the very top of the bed in between our pillows. that way we are lower and can lay spread out.
  • Loading the player...
  • We have a queen sized bed also and do use the snugglenest. It can be tight some nights, but it normally just takes up the space by our shoulders and then we have all the room below for our legs to sprawl. it took a bit to get used to, but i love having in the bed with us.
  • DD grew out of the nest at 3 months.  Some are longer than the one we had, though...  So be sure to look into that if you do decide to go that route.

  • we used a sleep wedge, but a snuggle nest probably would have been better.  We put her between us sometimes and sometimes put her against the wall with me in the middle.
  • We dont follow all the rules.

DH usually sleeps with her in the crook of his arm propped up.  She has gas and lots of spit up if she lays flat too close to eating so this way we keep her propped up after I nurse.

During our daytime naps we will put her between us and let her lay flat.  We do use our own blankets so we are not fighting in our sleep over the covers.

  • We do whatever works that night. Sometimes it is just DS sleeping in the crook of my arm, sometimes it is using the co-sleeper bed between DH and I. We have a King size bed and that helps for sure (DH and I are both very tall and need space).
  • We have a queen too and DS sleeps in between DH and I.  It does get a bit uncomfortable sometimes especiallywhen DS starts moving around and trying to sleep perpendicular to us.  We only bed-share for 1/2 the night so it's not so bad.

  • We use the Snuggle Nest in our queen bed and it's decent.  I give dh way more room otherwise he complains but I can manage just fine even having a little bit of room.  The Snuggle Nest is butted up agains the headboard and I don't sleep with my head way up there so even with my shoulders & head next to the Snuggle Nest, the rest of my body has plenty of room to sprawl out below it (since the Snuggle Nest is only like 2-1/2ft long).

It does take some getting used to though!
