Cyst on brain?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this?  We had our US today and they found cysts on the brain.  We are going in for a level 2 next week and thinking about an amnio.  TIA!

A choriod plexus cyst? They're really common. My baby had one at my 20-week u/s. They weren't worried and scheduled me for another U/S at 28 weeks. The doctor said they usually disappear by 28-30 weeks. I did a lot of reading about it and found absolutely nothing that frightened me, so I'm not worried about it.

My little cousin had cysts on her brain, but they didn't discover them until she was about 3 years old. She's had two surgeries to have them removed, but they keep coming back. The doctor says it isn't a real threat to her right now because they don't get too large, but for some reason, they can't get rid of them permanently. She's now 8 and her last surgery was two years ago and so far everything has been good.

Thank you for the replies.  From my ticker, you can see that I am only 17 weeks, so hopefully they will resolve themselves.  I've been doing some reading as well and it seems that unless there are several other markers, an amnio isn't really warranted.  I know that the risk for miscarriage is quite low from an amnio, but I would rather just wait and see how everything next week goes.  Thanks again! Oh, we also found out that we are having another girl, so that is incredibly exciting!!

Choroid plexus cysts right?  Our daughter has them too. We just found out last week. I was scared to death just because I hate to think that anything could be wrong. However the more people I tell about it, the more people tell me that their little one had it and that everything is okay now and perfectly normal.  GL at your level 2 and I"ll be thinking of you!

That's what our LO has as well.  It's good to hear that people have had positive outcomes.  Thank you for the well wishes!  Also, our babies are Irish babies too!

My LO had two at our 20 week u/s and they were gone by the 24 week u/s with no other markers. Everything has been fine since, just waiting for his/her arrival and to see for certain that all is well! GL!
