Help me decide how to spend $$$

Okay so I have $100 to spend at my fave salon & spa and $100 in cash. My hair is medium- to light-brown now. Should I:

Get my hair highlighted a bit lighter and cut

or

Go darker and do the color myself, just get a haircut and spend the rest at Sephora?

    Leave your hair color alone and get a massage or something!

    My reasoning is taht if you start dying it you will have to keep it up, which will be an onging expense/pain in the butt.  Unless the gift card fairy regularly brings you salon gift cards :)

    oh suzy, I've dyed my hair since I was 17. I don't even remember what my natural color is. Chestnut, maybe? No matter what, I need a dye job.

    So yeah, I can save the highlights for the summer, right?
