Having trouble explaining attachment..(in a time crunch)

I am writing a psychology paper about attachment parenting/bonding with your baby and I am having trouble getting words to flow properly about how important it is to establish that attachment within the first weeks....

I know what I want to say in my head, but I don't know how to get it down on paper.

Any ideas? What your thought/how you would explain how important AP is within those first few weeks?

I think you should pick a theorist and work from there. I also think that you should use clinical/reputable resources as opposed some of the more modern mainstream sources as they tend to  manipulate the academically founded theories. Some theorists emphasize the first few weeks - some first few months - some first few years. So if you want to write about the first few weeks - then pick such a theorist (like klein/mahler).
