Anyone have an IKEA Gulliver crib?

We have to buy TWO more cribs.  I like the simplicity of these (plus they seem like they'll fit in a room better, since they don't have any fancy molding), and the price is GREAT.  Thoughts?

Re: Anyone have an IKEA Gulliver crib?

  • We ended up getting free cribs from another MoM, but we were going to get the Ikea Gulliver ones. We took a trip to Ikea to check them out, they looked sturdy enough and I thought the style was nice.

  • I think they are cute!  My sister has an ikea crib and loves it.
Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • We have the Gulliver and I love it. Granted, E hasn't slept in it much except for naps since she's been in our room in the p-n-p. But the crib is great -- we love the simple style and how, just like you said, it's so much smaller without all the fancy molding. We did get a regular crib mattress from BRU for it though. I wasn't a fan of the IKEA mattresses.

  • we have the hensvik and have loved it, except when we lowered it there were gaps at the ends of the mattress (ikea mattress too - shouldn't they fit the cribs perfectly?).  no one could ever explain why and we live 3 hours away from the nearest ikea so we've just been living w/ it...we decided it didn't really pose too much of a risk, plus cal sleeps 1/2 the night w/ us anyway.

  • We have them and I love them!  We actually had both DDs in one until they were about 7 months old.  The cribs are really sturdy and I like the way they look.  We've had them lowered for a while now too and it's not too hard to get them in or out of them.  I like that they can convert to toddler beds too.  We currently have them set up with the short sides against the wall and the long sides together so that the girls sleep "next" to each other.  (Don't know if they really care...they like to steal blankets from either other through the bars though ;-)

Oh, we also got these teething rails for our cribs and just put them on (super easy to do).  If you cut one in half, they will fit the short sides of the crib: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60117592

  • We have two of these (in white) and love them.  They're perfect.  You can't beat the price, they have nice clean lines, they aren't huge, and they're plenty sturdy.  They also convert to a toddler bed down the road.  It's a great crib.
  • I'm so glad you asked - we're currently trying to figure out which cribs to get!
