I should clarify; I don't have an issue if people don't broadcast it over public message boards, but I really don't get when people refuse to tell family and friends, or get all defensive about it being a big secret when asked. The name is going to be the same before or after the baby is born, and if people don't like it, they will either roll their eyes silently or say something, regardless of whether Special Snowflake is inside or outside the womb.
Not knowing for sure is one thing and I certainly wouldn't ask people for opinions on names if I didn't want them, but if the name is final, I just don't see the reason for keeping it under wraps, unless it's for a good reason (like I mentioned above).
