Femmy Boy Names?

DH and I can't agree on any girl names. He told me last night that he really likes boy names for a girl, and I'm generally not into this.

I don't want any of the trendy boy-turned-girl names (Riley, Ryan, Quinn, etc.). So, what are some boy names NOT usually used as girl names but that sound femmy and could be cute for girls?

My only ideas so far are Spencer and Percy.

  • I thought of the name Bennett for a boy or girl the other day. Just heard someone with that last name and thought it would be cute for first name. Looked it up for the meaning and it means "little blessed one" which made me like it even more. Too bad hubby is hard to please and wasn't a fan. Good luck!! P.S. My name is Brenden which is not a typical girls name... I always wanted a "girl name" growing up and was always asking my mom why she named me a boy name. Now I've come to appreciate it though! Just food for thought.

  • Ones I have heard several times around here are Reid, Sutton, Anderson, Dylan and Hunter.  Personally, I love boy names for a girl.  Some better than others - I personally love Reid and Dylan for a girl.  Sutton and Anderson don't really do it for me though (probably because I know boys with these names very well and just associate it with a boy).

ETA:  I also know a little girl named Carson.

I knew a girl named Brandon once. I really like that name for a girl, but DH is totall against it. Plus, we know a guy Brandon who's kind of a big DB.

  • I know a Wallis (pronounced Wallace) and I know an Allison who goes by Al.
  • I know girls named Carlton, Murray and Emery.

I also think that Parker or Bradley would be cute girl names.

  • A co-worker named her little girl Warren, after her grandfather
  • I know a Morris who's a girl.  Our names are always unisex and we just had our baby and chose Lennon (he's a boy). Our second runner up someone has suggested here was Tobin. Tobyn for a girl, we were in love with it and had Lennon been a girl he'd prolly be Tobyn!

In my hs class there were 2 Jordans and 2 Tristans (spelled the same way) one of each... one boy and one girl with each name. Neither seemed overly feminine or masculine.

  • Okay, I am late to this party but I just have to say this. Why o why would you want to give your GIRL a boy's name? For the life of me I cannot understand this trend. I can understand names like Taylor, Cameron, Corey, Casey, Dylan that have been unisex for some time, but some of the suggestions just baffle me. Are people really naming their daughter's Anderson and Bennett? Because to me those are total boys names. I'd rather be one of five Olivia Graces in a class than a girl named Davis or Ellis. I feel sad for all future little boys. I guess there really is no such thing as a boy name anymore since it's fair game to name a girl pretty much anything.

  • Overall, not a fan of the crossovers but there are a few that I like quite a bit actually....

    Devin (Devyn if you prefer)

    Morgan

    Cameron

Then also, I do prefer full girl names that could be shortened to a less 'girly' nickname so that baby girl can choose what she would like to be called.  Yes mom and dad need to be happy, but so does the kid!  lol

  • oh, OP--that pacifier is the CREEPIEST and one of the more hilarious things I've seen in a while!  Just had to mention it!

  • The suggestions in this post are awful.  Ellery?!  That's not a name for anyone!

Please don't do this.  It's awful.
