Baby Names

What do these names make you think of?

Anna

Mia

Edited to take a question out that everyone has answered, but now I truly want thoughts on the names in general.  What do you think?

Re: What do these names make you think of?

  • I know several people named Mia and they are all white. Both names are simply but they are nice.

  • I like both. And both are gaining in popularity if that matters.

Any Mia I know is white. I know Anna/Ana's that are hispanic.

    This

  • Neither of them come across as ethnic names to me. I know Mia's and Anna's who are caucasian.

I have a bit of a negative connotation that comes to mind when I see both of those names together, but I don't think it's worth mentioning since you're only going to be using one of them.

    Good luck choosing!

  • My baby will be Mexican, Italian, German, and Irish...none of those things really played a roll in picking a name. I did consider how they would be said is Spanish but that is it.

If you like a name, use it.

  • I don't think that Mia is a name associated with a particular ethnicity.

Sorry, I should have said she'll likely have blue eyes blonde hair which isn't typical Italian look... ya know?  Like I feel like one would expect dark hair -whether dark skinned or not.  Fair point sorry.

  • I know an Anna and a Mia.  Both names are nice

  • I am a tall caucasian Anna and love my name!  Mia is really pretty too!
  • I've never known a Mia, but have known several Anna's. I like both names. I have never thought of either to be associated with a certain ethnicity
  • I think both are nice, but I prefer Anna.

  • Anna and Mia together make me think of the Annorexia and Bulmia because they are used as nn for the diseases (google hem).

However, by themselves they are just girls names.  NMS though.

Okay that is just funny.  I didn't know that!  Well no worries it will only be one or the other and not one as a mn.  Thanks for telling me that...random!

  • Anna is classic, timeless, beautiful, underused, etc.. I love it! Mia is very cute, but pretty popular right now.
