Ive seen this asked here before, but cant remember any answers. I love the name Allie, but am not a fan of naming her something that sounds more like a nn. Other than Alison, Alexandra, and Alysa (-sp?) can anyone thing of a name that would have that nn? I think I may be at a loss when I eliminate those 3....Thanks

fwiw, I think its okay to give a nn as a first name.
My name is Abby. Just Abby, not Abigail. I'm 27 years old, and it being too "cutesy" or "little girly" is not a problem. It has grown with me just fine. And yes, occasionally people ask if its short for Abigail, and I tell them that its not. Its not a big deal or annoying to be asked that, as some others would have you think.
But, if you don't think so... babynamesworld.com lets you search by "begins with" or "contained in", so you could do that with the letters 'al' or 'all'.
