If the flange is too big on your pump, will this slow down the expression?

I ordered a larger flange for my breast pump because during the pull, part of my nipples were rubbing against the tubes and it was a little painful.  I got the new flanges today and tried to use them but barely got any milk suppressed.  I can't figure out if it was because I just didn't have enough or if it the new ones are just too big.

Hmm, it shouldn't slow things down if they fit right. When I first went up to a larger size flange that actually fit my nipple properly, I actually got more milk.

Try it again, when I first went up a size my very first pump was less.  Not sure if it was a fluke or not, but since then I have been getting more.

I am also trying to figure this out. When I got my larger flanges, everything worked great but after 3 weeks, I am getting less at each session and wondering if it's the flanges.
