We named our daugher Jane Collett (after many months of debate!)
We chose Jane because I simply adore it, specifically it reminds me of Peter Pan which was my favorite fairytale as a child (Wendy names her daughter Jane.)
Collett is a family name (my mother's maiden name and my sister's middle name.)
you??
Re: What name have you chosen and why did you choose that name?
We named our daughter Clara Valerie. I never considered the name Clara, but I read it in a book - The Long Way Round, by Ewan McGregor, of all people. His daughter is named Clara and I just loved the way it looked in print. I convinced DH to go with it because we couldn't agree on anything else. She is SUCH a Clara...I don't know how to explain what that means, but she totally suits her name. Valerie is my grandmother's name.
Our boy name is William Michael James - for our grandfathers and my dad.
Henry Michael. Henry because it was one of the very, very few names we agreed on and Michael is DH's name (our families always use family names for middle names).
Ryan Joseph
Ryan--the last name of my godmother who died at 38 from brain cancer
Joseph--DH's and my dad's first name
DD is Brooklyn Anne
Brooklyn was one of the only girl names that we agreed on, I liked it because it was not a very common name.
Anne is a family name. My middle name and my grandmothers' (on both sides) middle names.
The Life of the E Family
Tyler- my husband loved and was set on this name. I liked it but liked Matthew better. Tyler grew on me, now I love it.
John, Dh's name, may dad's name, Dh's dad's name, DH's Uncles name...you get the point.
If there is a DC...Im stumped!!!
Our boys names are:
Lucas Christopher --> Christopher is after my mom Cristina and Lucas is a name I have loved forever.
Matthew James --> Matthew is a name we both love and James is after DF
Our girl names are:
Elena Sarah Anya --> Elena is a name I love, Sarah is after my cousin and she is one of my best friends and always has been, Anya is a mix of reasons (Russian, version of Anna (my grandmother), and means Grace (DF's mom's name)
Amalia Rosalie --> Amalia (coincidentally) is a mix of my best friend's name. Amy and Natalia, and Rosalie is a name we both love.
Your Mom and I spell our first names the same!!!
Marcus Patrick
Marcus - a name I have always loved
Patrick - after my mom, her name is Patricia
Dillon Richard
Dillon was one of 3 names we both liked, this one stuck. Richard is my FIL name, he passed away when I was 18 weeks pregnant.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

We chose Brooke Nicole. Brooke was a name that we really agreed on and got a lot of positive feedback on. Also, it was the name of one of my favorite characters on TV. Nicole is my sisters middle name and I wanted to honor someone on my side of the family.
She was supposed to be Lila Rae and I'm glad we decided on Brooke because she's much too rough to be a gentle and airy "Lila."
DS1 is Jackson (Jack) David- My father is Jack, DH's father is David.
Possible name for DS2 is Charles (Charlie) Xavier- DH's grandfather and great-grandfather had the middle name Charles. My great-grandfather had the middle name Xavier.
Claire Cheyenne.
We don't exactly have a very memorable story of how we chose our daughter's name. We were actually watching Wedding Crashers and that's where we got her first name. I gave in with the second name since my DH loves names of 'places' and I couldn't find a middle name I liked to go with Claire that DH would consider anyway. I kind of liked Claire Isabelle but DH did not like that at all.
Jason Brooks
Jason is my brother's name. He was killed in a car accident when I was 19, and I wanted to name DS after him.
Brooks is DH's middle name and his grandmother's maiden name.
Girl: Elizabeth Jane
Elizabeth is my sisters middle name, Jane is my (and my mom's) middle name. We also love Jane Austen - esp. Pride & Prejudice.
Boy: We can't agree, but we'll def. be using my husbands middle name (Kenton) as either the middle or first name. He is a junior and we want to keep some of his name without having a Trip.
I absolutely love Jane and Elizabeth -- We won't use them together but if I get two girls it will definately be incorporated.l
You could name a boy WIlliam (as in Fitz William Darcy....lol).
We FINALLY decided on our name after much debate. But we came to a compromise to please both sides of the fam...
Harlan was my great grandfather
Phillip is my boyfriends Dad
Hilarie Dawn is our DD's name.
It fit my requirements for a name - barely even on the SSA list (I checked all spellings, as obviously this is a lesser used one) so not at all trendy right now, not made up and has a wonderful meaning "cheerful" that I hoped might describe DD (and it does!).
Dawn was another possibility for a first name and it seemed to flow nicely as a middle name.
Very few people will use this name right now because of the HRC association - made it even more appealing to me. And while I'm not a huge HRC fan, I do not mind if people think I got the name from her. I got the spelling from the only Hilarie I knew until HRC came along - I always just liked the -ie better than the -y spellings.
