NTR: Unemployment for Grant-Based Workers?

The company I work for funds me as an employee through a grant they  received that runs out on December 31. I am having a hard time finding something else. Is anyone familiar with unemployment enough to know if I might qualify for unemployment in January? I would not be fired or quiting the job, just not "renewed" (so to speak) as the grant is coming to a close. TIA

Wouldn't you be laid off?  I'd imagine if you're laid off then you would qualify...but I don't know much about unemployment.

I am in a similar situation though.  My funding runs out at the end of March.  I've been in this situation before but before I looked into UE I found another job.

I'm pretty sure.  I would check with your local UI office also I would let your boss/HR person know you will be applying because they will send a form to your employer to verify you no longer have the position.

Yes, you would qualify.? As long as you worked there the requisite amount of time and lost employment through no fault of your own, you qualify.? It is equivalent to a layoff.? Sorry to hear that.? Good luck, though!
