Hi, I have pcos and took metformin (1000 mg daily) to help regulate hormones and to help with insulin resistance. Unfortunately, it did not help me to get pregnant (but ivf did!), and I couldn't handle a higher dosage. It's commonly prescribed for women with pcos. Hope this helps a little.
